Launched after '999' call reporting a small inflatable being blown offshore from Seaham beach. On arrival it was discovered that the 2 men onboard were trying to paddle ashore after their engine suffered mechanical problems. The 2 men and their boat were taken onboard the lifeboat and landed on Seaham beach into the care of Seaham CRT.

Launched to reports of 2 girls in difficulty in the River Wear, close to Queen Alexandra Bridge. The 2 girls were recovered onto the lifeboat and given emergency first aid during the passage back to Sunderland Marina. They were then transferred into an Ambulance and taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital suffering from mild Hypothermia. NEWS

Launched to assist the crew (4 POB) of an 8m pleasure boat which had suffered engine failure 7 miles east of Sunderland. The lifeboat took the boat in tow before returning it to Sunderland Marina.

Launched to assist the crew (3 men) of a 21ft pleasure boat which fouled its propeller on a lobster pot line 1m south-east of Sunderland's South Pier. The Lifeboat crew managed to cut the line free; before taking the boat in tow back to Sunderland Marina.

Launched after reports of a woman in the River Wear close to Wearmouth Bridge. The woman was recovered onto the lifeboat and given emergency first aid during the passage back to S/land Marina. Emergency care continued at the Marina before the women was transferred to Sunderland Royal Hospital by Ambulance. NEWS

Launched to assist the crew (5 POB) of an 8m pleasure boat which had suffered electrical failure next to the Stadium of light. When the lifeboats arrived; the crew managed to get the engine started, so the ILB escorted the boat back to its moorings at Deptford.

Diverted from exercise to assist the crew of a small RIB which had suffered an outboard engine fire. Once made safe; the boat and its crew were taken in tow and taken to Sunderland Marina.

Launched after reports of a small dinghy drifting off Featherbed Rocks, Seaham. On further investigation it was confirmed that the dinghy had been unmanned for some time. It was then recovered from the water into the care of local Coastguard Officers.

Launched after reports of 2 teenagers cut off by the tide 100m north of Seaham Hall car park. While on-route Coastguard's confirmed that the teenagers had managed to scramble up the muddy bank to safety.

Launched after reports of a man standing on the wrong side of safety railings on Wearmouth Bridge. The lifeboat stoodby in close proximity while Police talked to the man. After about an hour, the man agreed to climb back over the railings to safety.

Both lifeboats launched following a DSC alert to the Coastguard; but without a position. A major search was carried out in a 30m radius of St Marys Island by 5 RNLI Lifeboats, Coastguard Teams, and an RAF Helicopter. After 3 hours the search was stood down with no boat being found.

Diverted from training exercise after reports of a man climbing up the upper structure of the Wearmouth Bridge. After four hours the lifeboat was stood down as it confirmed that the man was part of protest rather than in a distressed state.

Launched after '999' call reporting red flares off Hendon. The lifeboat searched the area with nothing found. It was later confirmed that the reported red flares were in fact Chinese lanterns.
